Striders compete in virtual Comrades

Striders compete in the Comrades virtual run

Members of the Striders Athletics Club braved the cold on June 14 for the first Comrades virtual run.

Over 40 000 runners worldwide took to the road on the day and the unprecedented event turned out to be a great success.

Striders member Larissa Donker says: “I love seeing family exercising together. People that have never done anything before are now taking to the streets.

“You can never take away from Comrades, the sweat, tears, dedication and hard work that one needs to put in to train for the ultimate race.

“This has united family, friends and even the world.

“The club congratulates all who participated in this unique event.”
