Heroine nominees help children

The organisation celebrates women who are advocates for change and community development in their respective areas.

Tsakani – Team Gauteng of the South African Heroine Awards nominees visited a local children’s home on Saturday as part of their community outreach programme.

The gumboots duo performed at the centre.

Gauteng has 50 nominees, four of which are from Kwatsaduza.
The team donated shoes, clothes, toys and R3 000.
The award ceremony will take place on December 5 in Sandton.
Head of communications for the SA Heroine Awards Lolo Sebetola said women are not celebrated enough.

“We have seen the need to honour women who are doing great work in the community and rural areas.
“These women go out of their way to help those in need from the goodness of their hearts.
“And the impact of their work truly shows when one visits these areas,” said Sebetola.

Children with disabilities received brand new clothes, toys and shoes from the Gauteng team of the South African Heroine Awards nominees 2020.

Children and guests were entertained with crafts, art activities and gumboot dancing.
They have offered to work with the home for the next 12 months.
