Women empowered through skills training
Project manager Mthokozisi Ibrahim Maseko stated the initiative aims to empower women with skills.
Langaville – iKhaya Lothando Community Development Centre, formerly known as Musjid al-Yaseen, held an attendance awarding certificate ceremony for their women empowerment programme.
The event took place on December 12 at the centre, which is situated in Extension Eight, opposite the ZCC Church.
Project manager Mthokozisi Ibrahim Maseko stated the initiative aims to empower women with skills.
“The women empowerment graduation saw 15 ladies from the Kwa-Thema and Langaville communities being certified in beadwork and embroidery skills.
“Many of them have been unemployed for a long time and had never artistically worked with beads or embroidery material before.
“Through this empowerment programme, they are now skilled with self-employment and job creation tools through which they can self-sustain, empower and create job opportunities for other women through small business enterprises aimed at revitalising township economies,” said Maseko.
