NPO assisting informal traders with applications for funding

The initiative is part of the Department of Small Business Development’s Township and Rural Enterprises Programme (TREP).

Kwa-Thema – Bambanani NPO, in partnership with the Gauteng Enterprise Propeller (GEP), are assisting informal traders affected by the pandemic with funding interventions.

The NPO hosted an informative session at Kwa-Thema Family Skills Centre late last year.

“We helped 30 local applicants with applying for the relief funding scheme.
“The initiative is ongoing, as we are looking to help even more informal traders within Gauteng.
“As an organisation, we have an enterprise development support programme which aims to develop small businesses, especially within our townships, in order to create job opportunities and empower people to earn an income,” explained founder of the NPO Petros Sibanyoni.

The NPO hosted an informative session at Kwa-Thema Family Skills Centre late last year.

Traders seeking support can apply for the grant by registering on the national Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) Agency for small business funding website and complete the online form.
Requirements include a valid municipal trading permit.

In addition, traders can use the services of the NPO to apply, should they not have the resources or require assistance.
The organisation operates from 19113 Ndungwane Street in Extension Six.
