NGO shares gifts with learners
“We are hoping that this will help make a difference in a black child’s first day back in school next year,” he explained.
Tsakani – Local organisation Keabo Entle is dedicated to rebuilding the confidence and self-esteem of black children from poor backgrounds.
On Sunday, it collected school shoes, backpacks and donated soccer gear to Our Stars FC from Tsakani at a picnic event.
Founder of the NGO Thabang Mokoena said the participation in the event was granted through a donation of sanitary pads and school shoes.

“We were able to collect enough school shoes to donate 50 to four schools, which include Sibonisiwe Primary School in Tsakani, Peace Luthuli Primary School in Daveyton, Manzini Primary School in Katlehong and Ilusasalethu Primary School in Vosloorus.
“We are hoping that this will help make a difference in the black child’s first day back in school next year,” he explained.
Thabo added that through his school journey, he identified how a lack of school uniform affected a learner’s performance in class.
“The learner withdraws from being active in class and their interest in school changes.
“When I started working, I vowed to make a difference in my community even if it meant to one child’s life,” he added.
Mokoena is encouraging residents to donate anything that they can to the organisation.
“Every donation will make a difference in someone’s life no matter how small you think it is,” he said.
