Juniors race to the finish line

Langaville – Sakhi Kgapolo hosted the Boxer 2.5 KM Junior Serious last Thursday at the Extension Seven park.
Kgapolo, who is the sports coordinator for Ward 79, said the event was a success.
“So many children from the community showed up to participate.
“We had 190 of them between the ages of six and 18,” he explained.
Kgapola said he has every intention to create more events this year.
“I can see that the children enjoy sport. I am just worried about the parents. I wish they would come and support their children.

“It would make a world of difference if these children could see familiar faces cheering for them.
“Some of them are really talented and need just a little support to get to the next level of competing,” he added.
He also thanked all the local businesses that supported the event, namely Plus Butchery, MD Tavern, Joebefoso Tombstones, Ethandwani Pharmacy and Nomdayi Projects.
“I can never do any of this by myself, so I appreciate their response when I knock on their doors and ask for help,” said Kgapola.
Central Gauteng Athletics provided the medals for the event.
