Kwa-Thema – Reality star Phume Khethang is using her Bhodla Let’s Talk initiative to empower women and address challenges in her community.
She is currently collecting school shoes and sanitary towels for those less fortunate and is urging the community to get involved.
Khethang is a cast member of the sizzling reality show Pastor’s Wives.
“Never in my life have I ever thought I would be in a reality TV.
“But when I was offered this opportunity, I was willing to give it a chance.
“Because I thought maybe my life could impact someone,” said Khethang.

The show’s season two is currently airing on television.
She said through her participation on the show, she hopes it sparks discussions amongst the Christian community that are not being addressed.
“I want people to know about the work I do beyond being a pastor’s wife.
“We are all born with a purpose and mine is to heal; hence, I started Bhodla Let’s Talk.
“The focus is on healing the nation.
“We are so broken and too scared to talk about it. I also hope to inspire and show people that we are all human and we go through issues as well,” she said.
She wants young women to learn to be independent and work hard.
Some of her favourite bible verses include Proverbs chapter 16 verse nine, Psalm chapter 119 verse 109 and Romans chapter five verse eight.
Her women-empowerment initiative aims to help those facing challenges but feel like they have no one to talk to.

“Families fall apart because of a family grudge that means nothing but does so much damage.
“Bhodla offers the platform to share and receive solutions.
“The goal is to rebuild and restore families, relationships, friendships and love,” she said.
The back-to-school drive is done every year, and this year is no different.
Her goal is to get 100 brand-new school pairs.
“My wish is that every child who is in need will get school shoes. For now, we are starting with 100 pairs but if we get more, we will be grateful.
“Because there is a need in our community, we have child-headed families and children who are raised by grandmothers relying on a social grant, which is never enough,” said Khethang.
