Tsakani -The City of Ekurhuleni has initiated a process towards the revitalisation and further development of the Tsakani Town Centre (Urban Hub).
The latest developments on the project were shared during a Tsakani Stakeholders Engagement event on the planned Tsakani Urban Hub with the community at Faranani Multipurpose Centre on Wednesday.
Ward 85 councillor Moses Sibiya said the project will unfold in various phases commencing with strategic spatial planning (preparation of precinct plan).

“This will be through feasibility studies and detailed design of catalytic projects, and ending with the implementation of priority projects.
“The National Treasury was involved in the project for an effective implementation of projects which they fund through the National Development Partnership Grant of the National Development Programme,” he explained.
He added that this approach perceives South African cities as comprising of two distinct but interdependent networks.
At the centre of the primary network is the CBD which functions as the anchor access precinct.
A secondary network will feed the primary network. At the centre of each secondary network will be a set of significant urban hubs.
