Unplanned water interuption in Tsakani
“Rand Water has informed CoE that pumping at its Mapleton Booster Station will be only at 430ml instead of 730ml."
The City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) is aware of water supply interruptions, which started this morning (March 3) in Tsakani.
It said the interruptions have resulted in low water pressure or no water.
“Rand Water has informed CoE that pumping at its Mapleton Booster Station will be only at 430ml instead of 730ml while they implement repairs to one of the pumps.
“Repair work will begin this evening,” explained Zweli Dlamini, the metro’s spokesperson.
The situation is said to affect water levels at reservoirs feeding on the Mapleton Pump Station.

“This morning, water levels were at 56% and 58% at the Vlakfontein Reservoirs and 27% and 33% at Sallies Reservoir in Brakpan.
“Rand Water technical teams have not been able to give an estimated time for the finalisation of repairs yet.
“When information is available, the municipality will issue an update,” he added.
The following areas are affected:
• Tsakani
• Langaville
• Geluksdal
• Labore
• Withok Estates

Water tankers will be dispatched at:
• Tsakani Extension 10 Clinic
• Tsakani Customer Care Centre
More water tankers are being sourced and locations and will be communicated through the CoE social media platforms when available.
The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience caused.
