Afro-pop artist takes the amapiano route
Jamela, known to his fanbase as Spuku J, has released his new single, titled Buya.
Tsakani – Local artist Maqhawe Jamela has ventured into amapiano with his latest track.
Jamela, known to his fanbase as Spuku J, has released his new single titled Buya.
“This song is dedicated to the mother of my children. We have had our fair share of ups and downs, but I still believe in love.
“It was written during a time where we had parted. She had taken the children and left me. So the song is quite special and touches on forgiveness, patience and being humble,” said Spuku J.

He first entered the world of music in 2015 when he released his solo album.
Spuku J has worked with the likes of KB suspect, Omen Nemo, Gugu Nkosi, Thula Mbala, Tceet music, and Hpee Daviid.
“As an artist, we need to evolve. It isn’t a secret that this genre is ruling the music scene and not just locally but globally. Hence, everyone is jumping on amapaino, so they can also make a living,” he said.
His new single will be released in the coming weeks, featuring DJ Tira and the Duyaza Production.
