The City of Ekurhuleni will be hosting the Young Outreach Programme (YOP) at the Dumisani Masilela Theatre in Germiston this Saturday.
According to the City’s spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini, the programme gives children between the ages of seven and 12 the opportunity to showcase their skills in the arts discipline while empowering them with the necessary skills.
This is done through workshops in musical and dance drama, storytelling and painting.

“To ensure the children get the most out of the programme, since inception in January, the City has partnered with prominent figures in the industry, like art director Tu Nokwe, one of the most decorated South African singers, an actress, guitarist, composer, author, teacher, lyricist and a recording artist.
“This Saturday’s workshop will be a showcase concert where the selected children from previous workshops will be displaying their skills and what they have learnt,” he added.
The event will start at 14:00 at Dumisani Masilela Theatre, 24 FH Odendaal Street in Germiston.
