Shoes and mobile libraries for Kwatsaduza schools

Kwatsaduza – Gibela’s Make-A-Difference campaign lives up to its promises.
The initiative was established in 2018 to address social issues faced by vulnerable groups within the community.
On March 16, the organisation unveiled 2 500 pairs of school shoes and 20 mobile libraries that will be donated to primary and secondary schools in Duduza, Tsakani, Kwa-Thema and Alra Park.
The event took place at Happiness Primary School.
“When the campaign was conceived, we wanted a way of having meaningful partnerships with our local stakeholders and a vehicle of supporting and contributing where we can.

“Our primary beneficiaries are the 22 000 learners for the mobile libraries with each library donated with about 3 000 books and the 2 500 learners who received shoes.
“In April, we will donate more shoes in Tsakani, Duduza and Kwa-Thema,” said Buyiswa Mncono-Liwani, the executive for corporate services and traction motors.
She added the donation is in line with their contribution to fighting illiteracy in the communities, by making books available and encouraging the culture of reading for leisure among learners so that they can raise an enlightened generation.
“Some learners are from very poor backgrounds as a result of the many issues that affect our township communities that can’t afford school shoes.
“With this donation, we are responding to such a need so that our children can focus on their studies instead of worrying about the cold winter mornings without shoes,” she added.
