Duduza – As part of Child Protection Month the local police visited day care centres in the area to educate toddlers about their rights.
One of the three centres visited was Umbosomusha ECD in Zamani Section.
“We are receiving cases of sexual offences with victims being toddlers, often reported by the teachers when they identify that there is a concern.
“We felt the need to educate them about children’s rights, sexual offences and drugs and substance abuse,” explained Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka.

The children were reminded to report any form of violation to their parents, teachers or the police.
Manaka added they are cautioning adults who fail to report crimes to the police, they will be arrested and charged accordingly as this is a criminal offence.
