Tsakani – The body of 21-year-old Zinhle Zimba was found inside a trench in an open veld along Nkosi and Mbuso streets in Ext 16 on Friday.
Her sister’s 24-year-old former partner has been arrested and charged with her murder.
It is alleged that Zihle’s sister Bongiwe Zimba (24) ended her relationship with the suspect on Tuesday.
They have a three-year-old child together.
The suspect allegedly went to Bongiwe’s home on Thursday and demanded to speak to her. This was the last time the family saw Zinhle.

Zinhle’s mother, Promise Mathonsi, said the family is pleading with the Tsakani Magistrates Court not to grant the suspect bail out of fear of what he might do if he is released.
Tsakani police spokesperson Sergeant Lerato Mngomezulu confirmed the suspect has been arrested.
“The suspect was last seen with the victim on Thursday night. He will appear before the Tsakani Magistrates Court and faces a charge of murder,” she explained.
