Duduza – The Sasol Filling Station on Mandela Drive in Bluegum View was robbed by a group of armed men in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The men allegedly arrived in a white Toyota Quantum and parked in front of the main door.
A group of people wearing masks and carrying firearms walked towards the main door and ordered the attendant to open the door while pointing a firearm at him.
They managed to gain access to the store and ordered him to open the cash registers and lie on the floor.
Duduza police spokesperson Sergeant Harry Manaka explained the robbers took cash from the registers, estimated to be R300.

“They continued to take cigarettes from the shelves valued at about R2 000.
“This was followed by an explosion from outside where the ATM was. The suspects moved to the store room where they forced it open with a crowbar,” he explained.
Manaka added that the suspects bombed the ATM outside and managed to take some money from it.
“The suspects also instructed the petrol attendant to pour petrol into two motor vehicles, a white Toyota Quantum and a white Toyota Quest before fleeing the scene,” he added.
Manaka added that the suspects are still on the run and urges anyone with information that would lead to their arrest to come forward.
