Career path opportunities for the youth

The youth were advised on which careers to follow.

Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Seventh Day Adventist Church hosted a career expo on November 6 in Kodisang Street, Kwa-Thema.

The expo aimed at advising the youth of career opportunities after matric.

The director of the church’s education department, Mzwandile Nkosi said, “When I grew up, I had challenges in not knowing what career path to follow.

“I had no one to guide me and as a result, it took me a while to get into a career I loved. I made mistakes before choosing one.”

Nkosi said he realised earlier this year, due to conversations with the youth in the church, that young people are going through the same things he went through when choosing a career.

He then had an idea, which he ran through the department, which led to the expo.

“I spoke to my team and we all came up with ideas of how to make the expo a successful programme. The expo was indeed successful and well attended.

“I hope the youth learnt a lot,” concluded Nkosi.
