Ward 77 raises funds for burnt shacks

Ward committee members washed cars to raise funds

Kwa-Thema – The Ward 77 committee members held a fundraising car wash at the corner of Kgaswane and Joe Mzamane streets in Kwa-Thema for residents affected by two burnt shacks in Kwa-Thema Ext Three on Saturday.

“The event was successful, everything went well.

“We are grateful to everyone who came and contributed towards making the event successful,” said ward committee member Lungile Jele.

The ward accepted and received donations from different stakeholders. However, they still have not reached the target.

Jele thanked everyone who donated clothes and brought their cars to the car wash.

“We will appreciate it if more people can donate. We are aware that some people could not make it due to the rainy weather,” Jele said.

Jele said they are still going to do a door-to-door in businesses around Ward 77 to ask for assistance for the committee to reach their target.

Those who would like to donate may contact Jele at 079 852 6372.
