Motshekga inspects KwaThema schools’ readiness
Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga urged learners to focus on their studies.
Kwa-Thema- The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga received a list of challenges that some of the schools are facing in the area.
During her visit to Theo-Thwala Primary School, the school pleaded with the minister to build sporting facilities as they currently don’t have any new school buildings and security.
The minister who was accompanied by the MEC of Education in Gauteng, Matome Chiloane, promised to look into the list of needs and address them accordingly.

This was part of the minister’s school readiness campaign. In Springs she also visited Zimisele Secondary School and Kwa-Thema Primary School as part of the school readiness campaign for the new academic calendar.
She encouraged learners to focus on their lessons and to refrain from bullying, gangs and substance abuse.
She said the department will introduce robotics subjects to the local schools so that they are not left behind as the world advances in that direction.

“The primary school level is the most important level in the educational journey. If we don’t get it right here, we might as well forget it. If we do get it right then we can go on holiday.
“It is at this level where we can see the quality of results we will achieve in Grade 12,” she said.
