Buhlebemfundo honours its Grade 12 learners

Tsakani – On February 3, Buhlebemfundo Secondary School hosted an awards ceremony to honour its matric learners from the 2022 class who achieved exceptional results.

The school obtained an 80% pass rate with 44 distinctions and 98 bachelor passes. Fifteen learners were showered with gifts, trophies and certificates.

The top 10 learners achieved an average of 81,39%. Four of these awardees are science learners who obtained six distinctions each.

Some of these learners have been invited to the district’s award ceremony on February 10.

“Unfortunately, our top achiever Bonolo Tshabalala was not present as he is already at Stellenbosch University,” said Andisa Nsibande, a teacher at the school.

“It was a day of pride, joy and honour for the school as many of our learners achieved by overcoming tremendous obstacles.

“The ceremony motivated the current Grade 12 learners as appreciation and recognition are powerful motivators, leading to an increase in performance.”

The top achievers were:
• Bonolo Tshabalala with six distinctions and an average of 87.4%
• Tshiamo Mokguri with six distinctions and an average of 85%
• Thato Nkosi with six distinctions and an average of 84,4%
• Khulile Nicole Dube with five distinctions and an average of 84%
• Bridget Lerato Skosana with five distinctions and an average of 82,4%
• Isack Nkosinathi Ngwenya with four distinctions and an average of 81%
• Palesa Owami Maseko with six distinctions and an average of 80,9%
• Ayanda Nontobeko Hlombe with four distinctions and an average of 78,7%
• Ntombikayise Nontobeko Nkambule with one distinction and an average of 78.7
• Qiniso Fanyana Mabaso with one distinction and an average of 74%.

The top learners in subjects:
• Karabo Motha: 97% for tourism
• Andile Phikela Zwane: 91% for mathematical literacy
• Buhle Dhlamini: 81% for business studies
• Zixolise Freedy Klaas: 84% for isiXhosa
• Bukho-Bakhe Gxumisa: 83% for history.
