Kwa-Thema – Simphiwe ‘DJ Bat’ Ndala is a resident DJ at EKFM and Bahama after having practised the art for 12 years.
DJ Bat, from Kwa-Thema, started playing at Bahama in 2011, which offered him great exposure.
In 2012, Bat was invited by Da Kruk to play at his YFM show, The Players Club, which was on Saturdays in the evening.
Bat said he was playing a lot in Daveyton and that was when Da Kruk heard of him.

Bat got booked to play at big shows such as the Springs Fiesta and Rock the Shades. Last year he released an EP, Stina Republic, with EeQue and Jandas. When playing, Bat starts his mixes with traditional clan names and poems which has become his intro.
The intro can be heard also on his mixes which he releases monthly and can be downloaded on YouTube or his Facebook page, DJ Bat Sipmhiwe.
“Some of the DJs who inspire me are Kabza da Small and DJ Stokie,” said Bat.
Bat is working on a single with Mick Man, which is soon to be released.
