Siyajula thankful to organisations

Some artists who performed at the festival were Joe Nina and Nico Phooko, Mbira and Zoleka, the Kwa-Thema Youth Choir and poets.

Kwa-Thema – The Siyajula Arise and Shine Organisation for Kwa-Thema History had a cultural festival to honour community legends on Thursday at the Kwa-Thema Hall.

The organisation’s deputy chairperson, Nicholas Smanga Makhubo, thanked the stakeholders, government and municipality officials and the corporations that supported their event.

“We thank you so much for your heartfelt contributions, without which we would not have hosted the event. It gives our organisation pleasure to be associated with your companies and organisations, and we are grateful to incubate as part of your social responsibility programmes. We are highly indebted to your support,” Makhubo said.

“Against all odds, we had a breakthrough in hosting and staging the remarkable gala dinner in honour of our local pioneers, icons and fallen heroes. We appreciate the donation in-kind and support of our vision, reclaiming our historic and legendary legacy.”
