Thugs bomb ATM, rob garage

The Gauteng police are investigating a business robbery and ATM bombing at the Engen garage on the corner of Nkosi and Kgaswane streets in Kwa-Thema.

According to Colonel Noxolo Kweza, the Gauteng police spokesperson, the garage employees were attending to a customer when the robbers approached them.

“The suspects wore masks and were armed. They forced the employees into a corner, and a few minutes later, the employees heard a loud explosion,” she explained.

The thugs also fired shots and escaped with an undisclosed sum of cash and cigarettes.

No one was injured, and the SAPS have made no arrests yet. The police continue to investigate.
