Jazz singer releases a melodic new track

The jazz singer is not new to music as she was born into a musical family.

Tsakani – Kgomotso Moepye, known as KG Moepye on the stage, released her debut single called Mandingasuki on May 17.

The jazz singer is not new to music as she was born into a musical family. She said she knew from a young age she was destined to be a singer.

“Music was never a foreign concept for me. I started singing in church and school choirs throughout primary school and high school. I sang my first solo at seven years old.

“After I matriculated, I studied at the Music Academy of Gauteng in Benoni. I am currently furthering my studies in jazz, at the University of South Africa,” she said.

Moepye is now working as a singer in the United Arab Emirates. Her music, as she describes it, is about reflecting on who you have been, who you are and how you can be better.

“It is about loving yourself, loving everything that is, and on that same note, connecting with the Creator through that love,” she said.

When listening to her new song, her melodic and comforting voice greets your ears and transports you to a pleasant place.

She is working on a project called Ubufakazi, which means ‘a testimony’. She explained her upcoming project is about having innate knowledge that people possess.

“I believe that there is no time for mediocrity. We need to uplift ourselves and others so that we can be testimonies.

“I have big hopes and dreams and would like my music to take me as far and as high as I can go,” she added.
