Awards laud community change agents

The fifth annual Thabang Xaba Community Awards give recognition to community leaders who are sparking change.

Community members gathered at the Thabang Xaba Community Awards to give recognition to the people who selflessly help Kwatsaduza residents.

The fifth edition of the annual awards ceremony took place last Friday at the Kwa-Thema Hall. The community nominates people who have dedicated their time to improving the lives of others.

“We realised there are many people who give their time, money and resources to help change the state of our community, but they don’t always get the recognition they deserve,” said Thabang Xaba, the event’s founder and organiser.

The community filled the hall to celebrate the nominees for the work they do in their respective areas.

“Seeing people celebrated for their work in different spheres of life was amazing. We appreciate the support of the community, the business sector, décor services and sound and music,” Xaba added.
