Claimants demand unpaid benefits
Members of the Unpaid Benefits Campaign recently protested outside the National Treasury, demanding action within 21 days or face a much larger protest next year.
Pretoria – Members of the Unpaid Benefits Campaign recently protested outside the offices of the National Treasury.
“The SAPS and the JMPD escorted us from the start until we reached the Treasury department.
The UBC memorandum was read and signed by the director of the Treasury department, Lutendo Ramalebana, who also accepted the UBC petition.
“Although we only used a 15-seater Kombi plus a private car, this protest had an impact,” explained Thomas Molokotsa from the organisation.
Treasury was given 21 days to respond.
“Failure to respond will result in millions of people coming because we are going back to the drawing board to plan next year’s protest march,” added Molokotsa.
