Nkosinathi Mbonani Foundation hosts Soup Drive for elderly on Mandela Day

The Nkosinathi Mbonani Foundation marked Mandela Day by serving warm soup to elderly patients at the Phuthanang Clinic, showing that small acts of kindness can leave a lasting impact.

Tsakani – In honour of Mandela Day, the Nkosinathi Mbonani Foundation held a soup drive at the Phuthanang Clinic on July 19. The drive aimed to support vulnerable groups, including learners and the elderly.

“Our foundation continues to embody the values of compassion, education, dignity and principles that align closely with the legacy of Nelson Mandela.

“In continuation of these efforts, and commemoration of Mandela Day, we visited the Phuthanang Clinic, where elderly patients received nutritious soup,” explained foundation founder Nkosinathi Mbonani.

“This visit was more than just a gesture of charity; it was a heartfelt tribute to Nelson Mandela’s lifelong commitment to dignity for all and respect for elders.

“Mandela Day reminds us that service to others should not be confined to one day, but should inspire continuous action.”

Mbonani said we honour Madiba not just through remembrance, but through practical contributions that improve lives.

The foundation said the soup drive was not a once-off event but part of an ongoing programme fostering community care, providing relief, and promoting educational advancement among youth.

“By anchoring our initiatives in education and social welfare, our foundation is steadily building a legacy that mirrors Mandela’s vision, which is a society where every individual, young or old, is valued and supported,” he added.
