Young Achievers United Ladies dominate Edenvale 5-0 in Ekurhuleni League
Young Achievers United Ladies crushed Edenvale FC 5-0 at Kwa-Thema Stadium in a dominant SAFA Ekurhuleni Women Regional League clash, proving why they’re a top contender this season.
Kwa-Thema – Young Achievers United Ladies made a mockery of Edenvale Football Club by beating them 5-0 at Kwa-Thema Stadium on Saturday, in the SAFA Ekurhuleni Women Regional League.
“The match started badly for us. We conceded the first four goals in the first half,” said Bev Antinopolis.
She believed her team was exhausted by the time they arrived at the venue and could not keep up with the Achievers.
“It was a big rush for us to get here; it was stressful. Some players even had to work before we travelled. They weren’t playing as compactly as they usually do, but the coach spoke to them at halftime. The second half was much better than the first,” she added.

Achievers only sneaked in one goal after the ladies from Edenvale came back with renewed strength. Young Achievers coach and chairperson Lazarus Malatji said he was not impressed with his team’s win.
“We are happy to walk away with the three points, but we could have done better. They set a high standard for themselves, and now they have to maintain it,” he said.
On July 19, Achievers thrashed JST Valentine FC 19-0 at Duduza Stadium. On the same day, Edenvale dominated Albertho Girls Academy, winning 8-0.
Currently third in the league standings, Young Achievers United Ladies have won 10 of their 12 matches.
Mbali Tsabiso and Muhle Nkabinde, the team’s captains, agree with their coach.

“We have not been consistent. Many of us do not show up as we should for practice. I know we can be better if we could be more disciplined,” said Tsabiso.
She is currently second on the league’s top goal scorers list. Tsabiso has scored 21 goals in nine matches. The team will face the Dream Team in their next match on August 2.
“At this point, it’s not about thinking we will win – we have to win,” said goalkeeper Nkabinde.
She has had four clean sheets in nine matches.
