From struggles to spotlight: Given Malothe represents Kwa-Thema in Mister SA 2025

From humble beginnings to national recognition, local role model Given Malothe is using his platform to inspire the youth and champion community empowerment through his advocacy, Take Up The Baton.

Kwa-Thema – Local resident Given Malothe is proving that perseverance and purpose can take you far. He is now a proud finalist in the Mister South Africa 2025 competition. Despite life’s setbacks, Malothe has never let obstacles define his path.

“Growing up, I always envisioned myself in the health sciences field, but due to challenges, I’m currently in the engineering field,” he shared.

The youngest of five siblings, Malothe was raised in modest circumstances in Kwa-Thema. Yet his upbringing only strengthened his resolve to give back.

“Throughout the struggles my family and I have faced, I remained committed to service. That’s why I launched my advocacy, Take Up The Baton, which encourages young people to discover their inner power and lead with purpose,” he explained.

Malothe emphasizes that education is important but does not solely define one’s potential.

“I don’t have power to give to someone else, but I do have a voice, to remind others that their value extends beyond grades and school theory,” he said.

As he advances in the Mister South Africa competition, Malothe is calling on the community for support through votes and partnerships.

“Your votes are not just for me. They support a vision of youth empowerment and positive change. I also welcome companies that want to collaborate in building impact through this platform.”
