Tshepiso Modipa launches inclusive fashion brand ‘Family Planet Clothing’ to unite communities

At just 19, Tsakani-born actor Tshepiso Modipa is stepping into the fashion world with his new brand, Family Planet Clothing. Built on values of inclusivity, diversity, and community, the brand is more than just clothing – it's a movement to bring people together across cultures and backgrounds.

Tsakani – Young actor and entrepreneur Tshepiso Modipa (19) has added clothing brand founder to his growing list of achievements.

“The whole concept came from an opportunity I saw – an opportunity for connection. An opportunity to create something that will bring people together, without favouring any gender or race, and ensuring everyone fits in.

“That’s where our slogan came from: ‘Across cultures, ages and backgrounds, a universal language of style speaks to our shared humanity, celebrating the beauty of diversity and the strength of togetherness’,” explained Modipa.

Through the brand, he has prioritised partnering with local events, especially artistic ones, as they share the same values of creativity and connection.

“We want to bring everyone together, hence the name Family Planet Clothing,” he added.

The former Tsakane Secondary School learner said he is not just building a business but a community.

“For printing, we have collaborated with Motlatji Printing, which is also based in Tsakani,” he said.

Modipa recently appeared on television as young Kopano in House of Zwide. Since starting his acting career in 2020, he also hopes to contribute to the local theatre scene in Tsakani.

Clothing from his brand is available on the Family Planet Clothing Facebook page.
