Duduza taxi crackdown: Eight unlicensed vehicles impounded

A joint operation between EMPD, SAPS, and Gauteng Traffic Police led to the impoundment of eight taxis operating without permits on Sonnerskraal Road in Duduza.

Duduza – Officers from the EMPD’s Taxi Violence Combating Team (TVCT), SAPS, and the Gauteng Traffic Police joined forces in a co-ordinated operation aimed at tackling crime in the Duduza area.

This operation was conducted on September 4 and resulted in eight taxis being impounded on Sonnerskraal Road.

“Taxis that were found operating without an operating permit were taken to the Gauteng Provincial pound in Benoni.

“This operation is an ongoing law enforcement operation on taxi-related transport and seeks to ensure compliance with the National Road Traffic Act to address lawlessness in public transport in the City of Ekurhuleni,” explained CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini.
