From church choir to radio play: Mr Paper’s journey of healing through music
Malibongwe Sithole, better known as ‘Mr Paper’, found his musical voice through the church and personal loss and now aims to use it to uplift and inspire.
Malibongwe Sithole’s late cousin, a gospel artist, inspired him to pursue music and guided him in making it. He grew up surrounded by churchgoers and gospel music.
“My love for music runs deep. I want to use my sound to mentor people through meaningful lyrics, give them hope, strength and the courage to keep going. I want my music to change lives,” he said.
Known to his fans as ‘Mr Paper’, he started making music at a young age.
“I used to sing in church, and by the time I was 15, I started recording my own tracks. That was the beginning of a journey that is still unfolding.”
He looks up to Sjava, Rodwave and Post Malone, and has worked with Vynokeyz, Dj Kingtara, Dj Stresser, Leerosoul and Mksoul.
Having dropped a few songs, his top achievement was his song Indalo, which landed him a radio interview. Sithole recently released a song titled Nkosi Yam, featuring Jose de Alto.
“I am warming up to drop my EP, 2woinOne, with Proz theFuture in September. I aim to be a pillar of strength through music while inspiring those who look up to me. I am beyond willing to change or help society by giving back to the community,” he mentioned.
He described his music as a reflection of life, his stories and life as a whole. Sithole concluded by saying he creates stories and heals through his voice.
