Heinrich Booysen Ministries from Brakpan blessed the Epilepsy SA Centre in Geduld, Springs, with word, worship and praise on September 20.

Church founder Heinrich Booysen said his visit was inspired by a trip he made last year to see his nephew, who is a resident at the centre.

He also said that his right-hand man, Maurice Fowler, made it possible for them to get donations from various people.

“I hope our visit leaves people feeling hopeful, knowing they have eternal life and are not alone. I want them to know they are loved by God,” Booysen said.

Booysen said he hopes centre residents will visit the local churches his ministry partners with, so they can continue receiving the word of the Lord.

Residents of the centre received Bibles and brochures with more information about the church. The evangelist said spiritual care must align with physical care, adding that the two work hand in hand and that medicine is also part of God’s healing.

“I feel like we neglect the spiritual side due to the importance of medicine, which sometimes leaves the spirit demotivated, depressed and hurt,” said Booysen.

The centre’s senior social worker, Sylvia Manganyi, told the publication that they are grateful that there are people that have not forgotten about the residents.

She added that the residents are always excited to receive visitors, and this particular visit was different — something they truly needed.

“When our residents move in, they often feel society has forgotten them, and their routines change drastically from what they were used to in the outside world,” said Manganyi.
