Amabhubezi secure 2–1 win over Yebo Yes
A tightly contested match at Bhoman ground saw Amabhubezi claim victory over Yebo Yes in an exciting KTD League encounter.
Tsakani – Amabhubezi recently played against Yebo Yes in the KTD League at the Bhoman Ground. The game ended in a 2-1 victory for Amabhubezi.
The competitive game kept spectators on the edge of their seats as they cheered for their favourite team. Yebo Yes coach Thabiso Mathabathe said his team tried their best to equalise with their opponents but failed to do so.
He expressed disappointment at not capitalising on the goal-scoring opportunities they had.
“We misused every opportunity. We dominated at the beginning of the game, but took that for granted. Our opponents noticed that we lacked energy and capitalised on that,” he said.
Mathabathe said he was pleased with how the game concluded.

“Considering that we once lost 10-0, I am happy that we tried our best this week,” he added.
Amabhubezi chairperson and player Xolani Mgcina expressed pride in his team’s recent form and the sense of brotherhood within the squad, following their latest performance. Mgcina acknowledged that the game was tough, largely because both teams understood each other’s style of play.
“The two teams know each other very well, so it was quite difficult for us to play our usual passing game. We could not get into our rhythm in the first half because they knew who our key players were and marked them tightly.
“In the second half, we made impactful changes that brought the depth we needed,” he said.
“I also came in as a striker to add physical presence up front. We moved our number six, who plays with pace, to the wing to open smaller channels. We even pushed our centre back forward to help win aerial balls, and that worked for us.”

Mgcina noted that his team has been performing well in the league, saying that out of the last ten games, they have drawn around three and won seven. He highlighted that they have not lost in a while.
“That shows our commitment and teamwork. I am very proud to be part of this team, and not just as the chairperson, but as one of the boys,” he said.
He further explained the close-knit nature of the Kwatsaduza football community and how it has enforced a brotherhood.
“The league has created a brotherhood where we support each other on and off the field. I am super proud to be part of this organisation. We have watched it grow, and I want to see it continue to strengthen,” he added.
Mgcina mentioned that the league’s goal is to reach a level where they can give back to the same community that supports them.
