Flying squad nabs dagga courier on R23, suspect also charged with bribery

The driver allegedly attempted to bribe officers with R6 000 for his release.

Tsakani – SAPS Benoni Flying Squad members arrested a man on the R23 near Tsakane after finding four large bags of dagga in his Hilux on Friday.

He was also charged with bribery after allegedly offering members R6 000 for his release. He was detained at the Tsakane Police Station.

The dagga, valued at approximately R80 000, has been booked as evidence along with the R6 000 cash.

The suspect will appear in the local magistrate’s court, facing charges of drug possession, dealing in drugs and bribery.
