Man on way to work is fatally shot
The 57-year-old victim was walking across Thema Road when two men trying to rob him attacked him.
A man was shot and killed while on his way to work on Tuesday morning. Kwa-Thema police responded to a report of murder at the corner of Thema and Mapanzela roads.
“On arrival, they found a victim lying on the ground with two gunshots, one on the upper body and the other on his middle body,” explained Captain Neldah Sekgobela, the Ekurhuleni district communications officer.
According to the witness, the 57-year-old victim was walking across Thema Road when two men trying to rob him attacked him.
It is alleged that the deceased tried to fight back but was shot twice, and the suspects ran away.
“No one has been arrested yet regarding the matter,” added Sekgobela.
The police are investigating a murder case and request anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward.
