Community invited to empowering women’s walk in Tsakani
Bush Adventure and Tsakane Tourism will host their third annual Women’s Walk to raise awareness on issues affecting women.
Tsakani – Bush Adventure and Tsakane Tourism have invited the community to their third annual Women’s Walk on November 7.
The event, which covers distances ranging from 5km to 10km, will begin at Calcot Dlephu Park at 07:00. Participants are encouraged to wear black and purple, and the morning will also include an aerobics session.
Speaking to the African Reporter, director and stakeholder relations manager Johanna Mdhluli said it is important to walk in honour of women to highlight the injustices they face.
“We want to address serious issues that women are facing, such as women being attacked in abnormal circumstances more than before,” she said.
Mdhluli added that attendees can expect encouragement, information, and networking opportunities, with the event aimed at promoting overall empowerment.
“Women empowerment in all spectrums: well-being, cancer awareness, gender-based violence, substance abuse awareness, entrepreneurial skills, and relevant information to women issues,” she said.
