Springs Home Sweepers shine at home

“We have played 14 games with eight wins, two draws, four losses, and we have four games remaining,” he said.

Kwa-Thema – Springs Home Sweepers FC women’s team pulled out all the stops to win their weekend game against the North-West University Vaal campus on Sunday afternoon.
The teams locked horns at the Kwa-Thema Stadium, playing to a 1-0 win in favour of the home team.
The winning goal was scored by 18-year-old Lindiwe Nkambule, who is the team captain.
This was part of the Sasol League games.
Team coach Mkhonza Mkhonzana said he is proud of how the team played.

“It was a challenging game and both teams had a fair chance to walk of the pitch as winners.
“We have played 14 games with eight wins, two draws, four losses, and we have four games remaining,” he said.
Mkhonzana added he was happy to see two of his former players, Gugulethu Nkosi and Lesego Letago, receiving game time on their opposing team.
The pair joined the team after they received a scholarship to study at the university last year.
“It is unfortunate that woman’s soccer is not yet professionalised in the country and players are unable to make an honest living out of it.
“Through the scholarship, players from poor backgrounds are given an opportunity to plan for their future while they enjoy the sport,” he added.
