Disabled athletes keep winning
Some players were selected for the National Championships.
Kwa-Thema – The Kwa-Thema Disability Club is a club of champions who keep on winning tournaments in which they participate.
A few weeks after the club defended the Gauteng Sports Association for the Physically Disabled (GSAPD) Festival Cup title, they defended the GSAPD CP-Soccer league.
On Saturday the club went to the Germiston Stadium where they defended their league title in CP soccer.
Six of the team players were also selected to be part of the Gauteng team for next year’s South African Sports Association for the Physically Disabled (SASAPD) national championships which will be in Bloemfontein.

In the same breath, para-athletes also participated in athletics at the stadium and 12 of the Kwa-Thema athletes were also selected to be part of team Gauteng in the championships.
Coach Aubrey Mathibela said as they were closing off the year, the work that his team put in since the start of the year showed.
“I am happy that we ended the year on a good and high note and very proud of my team,” he said.
Mathibela said he would like to thank the parents for letting their children join the team, the community for the support, the Amazokozoko band for always showing up at their games, Jabu Kubheka and Willy Msomi for sponsoring the team for the whole year to their games.
