Tsakani – The curtain-raising game between the KTD Board team and Tsakane Real Servants set the tone for an action-filled day at Borman Ground on September 24.
The two sides delivered a highly entertaining performance that kept fans fully engaged from kick-off to final whistle, showcasing skill, pace, and passion on the field.
The game ended with a score of 1-0, a win for KTD Board team.
KTD secretary Sithembiso Mnisi said the game served as motivation to other masters teams.
He sumarised the game as competitive but fair game.
“We managed to score a goal, which was big for us because we are not a team that trains regularly.
“What made it even more special is that most of our players are over 40, yet the game was played cleanly with no fouls, very few corner kicks, and no unnecessary stoppages.
“It was pure, enjoyable football,” he said.
In the second half, the physical demands became clear, but the Masters League format allowed flexible substitutions.
“We had one of our players get tired, but because you can go in and out, we managed to contain them,” he added.
“Our game set the tone for the finals. By playing with fairness and composure, we showed that football is about more than just winning—it’s about unity and enjoyment.”
