Tsakani – The Super Eagles Youth Organisation’s Winter Games recently concluded on a high note with teams competing for the top spot.

The games took place at the Muzi Ground in Tsakani Ext 19. Muzi Winter Games began as a community development initiative to empower young people through sport.

What began as a small effort to bring hope and opportunities to the local community has, over the past eight years, grown into an organisation that positively impacts many lives.

Founded by Muzi Zwane, the games aim to use various sporting codes, including soccer and netball, to develop young people.

“Equipping young people with essential life skills and encouraging self-discovery and personal growth is important.

“We believe that sport is a powerful tool for social change and community development,” explained Sbusiso Ndlovu.

Ndlovu stated that although they have worked tirelessly for eight years without sponsorship, their commitment has never wavered.

“We have continued to organise free community events and programmes because we have witnessed the difference they make in the lives of children and young people.

“For many families, Super Eagles Youth Organisation has become a source of hope, discipline, and inspiration.

“Today, we continue to seek partnerships and sponsorships that will help us expand our reach, provide sporting equipment, and create even more opportunities for the youth in our community,” he said.

He explained that one of their greatest challenges has been the lack of sponsorship and financial support.

The tournament honoured players across divisions with cups and medals. Players demonstrated resilience and hard work.

Overall player of the tournament was Neo Thejane, who was awarded for his outstanding performance.
Milan FC was crowned as the U19 champions of the tournament.

As the curtains closed on another successful edition of the Winter Games, organisers expressed hope that increased support from sponsors and partners will enable the initiative to grow even further, ensuring that more young people in Tsakani benefit from the opportunities, life skills and positive environment created through sport.
