Tsakani – The Owl City Pre-Season Mini League Winter Tournament concluded on August 22 at Plug Ground with a game between Tech United and Amen Foundation.

Tech United coach Bheki Mchunu said the team started the match slowly but remained competitive, using the first half to identify and correct their mistakes.

“We observed our opponents during the semi-final and saw some of their mistakes. “The players managed to change the game, especially after correcting the mistakes from the first half,” said Mchunu.

He said the team initially missed several scoring opportunities but returned stronger in the second half.

“We returned with four goals, which helped us to manage and score the second goal,” he said.

Tech United dominated their match, securing a convincing 5–1 victory.

Mchunu praised team management for creating a supportive environment for the young players and said the victory was a positive reward for their hard work.

He also highlighted the challenges facing the team, including the need for better-maintained grounds, sponsorship and transport to away games.

“We need help with grounds, maintenance and sponsors. We do not have well-maintained pitches, and we need transport and money for games.

“We normally participate in away games, sometimes without shoes,” he added.

Looking ahead, Mchunu thanked Thabang Mokoena, Sipho Tshabalala and the entire team for their support and contribution to the team’s success.

He also thanked the tournament organisers. Amen Foundation coach could not be reached for comment.
