Magazine curated for rappers

Online magazine aims to empower artists.

Kwatsaduza – Bars’ n’ Rhymes is an online magazine aiming to promote and give hip-hop artists a platform.
The magazine spotlights the ever-evolving culture of the latter by profiling underground and upcoming artists, reviewing the latest hip-hop singles and albums and providing industrial tips for artists to be successful in the industry.
It was established in 2021 by Kwa-Thema rapper and entrepreneur Thamsanqa Nogaga, popularly known as Savage Sossa, and Black La’Rose Montana.
Sossa’s music style varies from urban rap, hip-hop, reggae, rock and roll, mbaqanga, dance-hall, house, kwaito, RnB, afro-pop, gospel and maskandi. He said hip-hop is a way of living.

“Through our platform, we want to give artists a space to interact with their fans and other hip-hop lovers.
“We allow them to not only showcase their talents but also their journey.
“We aim to share thought-provoking, entertaining, educative and informative articles.
“Make it simple for the genre lovers to access artists’ latest work.
“This is by far the number one choice for hip-hop heads,” explained Sossa.
The magazine drops every second month.
They have covered the likes of N’veigh, Shabzi Madallion, Mr Gun, Edify RSA and international artists such as 3rd Side Slime.
Montana reiterates that rap isn’t only about the music; instead, it is a lifestyle.

“The genre speaks to a way of living.
“It provides a voice to the marginalised groups and speaks about current affairs and events while entertaining with its vibrant and colourful culture.
“With the project, we want to preserve the culture and celebrate those who continue to contribute to the latter,” said Sossa.
They invite artists who would like to be featured in their next issue to submit their profiles via email to barsnrhymesmagazine@gmail.com, alternatively visiting their social media pages.
