Dunnotar Warriors and Real Barcelona battle to dramatic 2–2 draw at Kwa-Thema Sports Complex
Missed chances and defensive lapses proved costly as Dunnotar Warriors and Real Barcelona battled to a 2–2 draw in Kwa-Thema.
Kwa-Thema – A clash between super teams Dunnotar Warriors and Real Barcelona captivated spectators at the Kwa-Thema Sports Complex on May 3, in a match played under the Springs Local Football Association.
Dunnotar Warriors coach, Jacob ‘Master’ Nkosi, reflected on a game that showed promise but also exposed key areas needing improvement.
“The game started well and in tune, and it worked in our favour. Our only mistake was not using our chances well. We created them but failed to utilise them,” said Nkosi.

Dunnotar Warriors managed to score their first goal in the first half, but Real Barcelona soon equalised.
The game went to halftime with a score of 1–1.
“At half-time, we allowed our opponents too much space and freedom, which made things difficult for us,” Nkosi added.
The second half saw Dunnotar regain control and take the lead, going 2–1 ahead. The advantage was short-lived as defensive lapses crept in.

“Our opponents caught up because our players became too comfortable. They were awarded a free kick, and another foul led to a second free kick, which they used to equalise,” he explained.
Despite the result, Nkosi remains optimistic about his team’s progress.
“I am not disappointed. We just need to create more chances, and the fact that we can create them shows we are on the right track.
“Our main problem is at the back; we made a lot of fouls, which led to free kicks. We need to rectify that to prevent this from happening again,” he said.
Real Barcelona’s coach could not be reached for comment.
