Do Good to Others Drive hosts Free Market Day for Kwatsaduza residents

Residents are invited to collect free pre-loved winter clothing and shoes at the Duduza New Taxi Rank as the Do Good to Others Drive continues its mission to support vulnerable community members this winter.

Duduza – Community-based organisation Do Good to Others Drive is set to host its annual free market day on June 27, offering residents access to free pre-loved winter clothing and shoes.

The event will take place at the Duduza New Taxi Rank in Bluegum View and aims to provide warmth, dignity and support to individuals and families facing difficult circumstances during the winter season.

The organisation, founded by seven community members, has been collecting pre-loved items since last year in preparation for the initiative.

According to organisation member Nkosana Mashinini, the project was established to assist those in need while promoting a spirit of compassion and community upliftment.

“The main purpose of the initiative is to collect gently used clothing for those in need within our
community.

“We have collected, washed and sorted the clothes to ensure that they are distributed in a dignified manner.

“Our aim is to support and make a meaningful difference within the community by providing warmth and dignity to those who are struggling,” said Mashinini.

Mashinini said the organisation is committed to ensuring that donated clothing and footwear reach individuals and families who need them most.

“By distributing donated clothes and shoes directly to people in need, we are making a significant difference in the lives of the underprivileged,” he added.

He expressed gratitude to community members, donors and supporters who have contributed to the initiative over the past year.

“Winter is a season that requires warmth and comfort.

“This is why we are inviting all Kwatsaduza community members to come and select any items they may need to stay warm and protected during the cold months,” added Mashinini.

He also added that residents are still encouraged to donate clothing, shoes and other essential items to help extend the initiative’s reach.

“The community’s involvement in the programme has been overwhelmingly positive and inspiring.

“Together, we can continue to support those who need it most.”
