Kwa-Thema – Refilwe Day Care Centre hosted a career day on August 22, allowing young learners to explore different professions in a fun, age-appropriate way.

The event, held under the leadership of principal and chairperson Lerato Lithako, aimed to introduce the children to various careers while helping them understand the world around them.

Learners were exposed to a range of professions, including doctors, firefighters, chefs, make-up artists, lawyers, musicians and police officers.

The career day allowed the children to interact with professionals and learn more about the different roles they play in society.

Lithako said the initiative aimed to plant the seeds of career awareness from an early age.

“We wanted to introduce our children to different jobs and help them understand how the world around them works in a fun and age-appropriate way,” said Lithako.

She expressed her appreciation to the parents for their contributions and continued support, saying their involvement was instrumental in making the event possible.

“We would also like to thank the Refilwe Day Care Centre parents for their contributions and support. This day would not have happened without them.

“We would also like to thank our two hardworking teachers, Nomsa Kabini and Wandisa Thomas, for their dedication and effort,” she said.

The centre hopes to continue exposing its learners to educational and developmental activities that encourage curiosity, confidence and an understanding of different career opportunities from a young age.
