Murdered toddlers’ mother arrested

The mother of the two toddlers found murdered in Zonkizizwe, on Wednesday, has been arrested.

Sgt Rufus Tema, the communications officer for the Zonkizizwe police, told the GCN that the 26-year-old woman, who is still in hospital, is the police’s primary suspect.

“After our investigations, we have decided to arrest the mother as our primary suspect for the murder of the children,” he said.

A post mortem will be conducted on the bodies of the girls, aged one and three, to determine the exact cause of death.
