City scrambles to get power to Alrode
Electricity supply remains interrupted in Alrode and parts of Thokoza since Friday, April 24.
ALBERTON – The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) has stated that the City is implementing measures to minimise the effects of the power outage.
As technicians continue to work at completing repairs, the Metro has reconfigured the electrical distribution networks in the area to shift part of the load from the affected substation’s ring feeders to other fully operational substations.
The Metro will, however, continue to supply power to the affected areas on a rotational three-hour cycle to ensure that all areas have power for a part of the day.
Residents and businesses are assured that the technicians will continue to work around the clock until power is fully restored to all areas.
The municipality wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the outage and encourages residents to use the shared power sparingly.
