Midday house break-in in Abraham Street, Eden Park

He just left the house for an hour and upon his return, a window was broken.

JUST when families were resting on their laurels since the arrest of the notorious thief of Fiat Street, a family in Abraham Street was caught by surprise.

Thieves broke into the Erens family’s house in Abraham Street on April 11 at 1pm while people were passing up and down the busy street.

The owner, Trevor Erens, alleged that he just left the house for an hour and upon his return, a window was broken and his plasma television was missing from its stand.

“Around midday I locked the house and went to Little Germiston to see a friend. It was not a long visit. I was away for about an hour. Upon entering my house, I noticed that something looked off. Then I realised that my TV was gone and as I went through the house, I discovered a broken window in a bedroom with burglar bars bent out of shape,” explained Trevor.

The television was the only item stolen from the house. A case of housebreaking was opened at Eden Park SAPS at 6pm that day.
