FROM July 1, the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) will only collect refuse contained in council-compliant or supplied 240-litre wheelie bins.
Residents can collect the 240-litre bins at their nearest management depot. Albertonians can collect them at Swartkoppies Road from Monday to Friday between 8am and 3.30pm.
For collection, residents must bring along copies of their identity documents (ID) and their municipal account.
Ward 37 Clr Tiaan Kotze commented: “The Ekurhuleni wheelie bin waste collection process is confirmed that from July 1 waste will no longer be collected from private wheelie bins and black bags.
“An Ekurhuleni black wheelie bin, which has a serial number and Ekurhuleni name, is required for waste collection. The green Alberton municipal bins are still valid and do not need to be exchanged.”
