Law enforcers raise awareness

“The aim is to reduce levels of crime so the community can feel and be safe,” said Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson WO Gerhard Cornelius.

Brackendowns SAPS, with the Brackendowns CPF, FOX, CPS and ADT, conducted operation Okae Molao on October 15 around Brackendowns.

The involved parties stationed three vehicle control points along exit routes from Brackendowns, where they raised awareness among drivers on vehicle-related crimes and gender-based violence. Pamphlets were also distributed to drivers passing by.

“The aim is to reduce levels of crime so that the community can feel and be safe,” said Brackendowns SAPS spokesperson WO Gerhard Cornelius.

The parties also went to four malls within the area to further spread awareness among residents. During the operation, one suspect was arrested for drunken driving.

In a further operation on October 17, officers staged another vehicle control point within Brackendowns. They continued to raise awareness during the operation.
